Drake shared the first photos of his son Adonis with a reminder that we’re never alone

On Monday, March 30th, Drake took to Instagram to share a series of family photos, including never-before-seen snaps of his 2-year-old son, Adonis, and Adonis’s mother, Sophie Brussaux. He included a message to his followers: Never be afraid to lean on the people who love you—especially now, during this time of uncertainty.

“Remember that you are never alone, and if you need to be reminded of that, ask for support and it will show up,” he writes in his Instagram post.

Although Brussaux announced Adonis’s birth in October 2017, Drake initially kept secret the fact that he was the father. He dropped hints that Adonis was his in his 2018 track “Emotionless,” in which he raps, “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world. I was hidin’ the world from my kid.”

He’s definitely not hiding Adonis in these pics of the two-and-a-half-year-old kid and his adorable curls.

“What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light,” Drake begins the caption of his post. “This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy.”

He continues, “When the mind starts to move into overthinking or fear, shift your attention right away to something bright.”

This statement alongside the photos has us thinking that Adonis is definitely the “something bright” in Drake’s life.

“It doesn’t matter what has happened in the past or what is happening around us now,” he writes. “You can always make the choice to break free of the wheel of suffering and panic and open up to your own light.”

Drake adds that we need to be conscious of our fears, treat anxiety with laughter, cry if we must, and never judge others for doing the same.

In his caption, Drake notes that this weird world we’re currently living in will “rebuild” itself, but it’s up to us to trust that it will happen and that we can pull through. “You have the biggest heart and that is your greatest gift,” he writes. “It’s impossible to always control your surroundings, but when you shift the focus to how you want to feel, everything will conspire to assist you.”

He also expresses that he misses his parents and son so much and can’t wait until they are all able to reunite. “Until then please keep your lights on,” Drake urges. TBH, this is kind of the pep talk we needed on this Monday morning.
