Drake Samples Kim Kardashian Talking About Kanye Divorce in New Song
Kardashian and Kris Jenner talk about her divorce from Kanye West on a sample in “Rescue Me.”
Drake is reigniting his feud with Kanye West — and putting the scorned rapper’s ex-wife and former mother-in-law in the middle of it.
In celebration of the 100th episode of The Fry Yiy Show, SiriusXM Radio’s Sound 42 brought in a very special guest, who shocked listeners with a surprise of his own. During his appearance, Drake played his new track “Rescue Me” produced by BNYZ…featuring Kim Kardashian’s voice.
While Kardashian didn’t personally lend her musical talents for the new song, Drake did sample a conversation between Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner, discussing her divorce from Ye.
“I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy,” the SKIMS founder says to her mom, who responds with, “Okay, that’s fair. You didn’t come this far just to come this far.”
“Remember that,” Kardashian quips.

Fans first heard their conversation on the season finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2021. During the episode, the reality star opened up to family members about she and Ye’s crumbling marriage and consequently, her decision to file for divorce.
Like Kardashian, Drake is in search of his dream partner. In the song, he raps about finding “someone to be patient with me,” adding he doesn’t care whether or not they’re “as famous as me.”
“I need someone to be patient with me / Someone to get money, would not take it from me / They don’t even need to be as famous as me / I don’t think I meet ’em at the places I be / But deep down I think about you all day, mami,” he says on “Rescue Me.”
Since dropping the song, fans have been speculating whether “mami” is in reference to Kardashian — if so, is Drake trying to go after his nemesis’s ex? — or a figment of his imagination.
Drake’s feud with West began when the rapper put out a diss track with Pusha and in it revealed Drake secretly fathered a son. West even went so far as to expose Drake’s son’s name, Adonis.
