Drake had to cancel two shows in Miami because of an illness that required round-the-clock care

No matter how many albums you sell or arenas you fill, you can still get sick. And unfortunately, not even Drake is immune to one of life’s biggest pitfalls. After coming down with a rather mysterious illness, Drake had to cancel two of his Miami dates—September 21st and 22nd—on his Aubrey and the Three Migos tour to recover. As bummed as those fans might have been to miss out on what would have been an awesome show, it sounds like the rapper was dealing with something pretty serious.

As Cosmopolitan pointed out, over the weekend, Drake took to his Instagram Story (which has since expired) to explain that he “got so ill so fast,” he had no choice but to put the kibosh on these shows, apologizing to fans who wouldn’t be able to see him in Miami. He didn’t say what kind of illness he was dealing with, but he did say he needed two doctors and “round-the-clock care.”

“Unlike other show cancellations or date adjustments due to production issues this one fell on me and I just want to apologize because I hate letting down anyone who come to share these moments with us,” he wrote. “Thank you to the two doctors and nurse that helped me with round the clock care.”

Here’s Drake’s statement in full:

The good news? He did say he’d be returning to Miami, so if you had tickets to a canceled show on the Aubrey and the Three Migos tour, you’ll be able to catch Drake on November 13th or 14th. It also doesn’t seem like he takes situations like this one lightly, so he probably wouldn’t have canceled unless it was absolutely necessary, which means he’s probably feeling pretty awful right now.

Hopefully Drake will be back on tour and feeling like himself again ASAP—and maybe he’ll even share some details about what had him so under the weather. Get well soon, Aubrey Graham!
