Drake wants to act again. We repeat: Drake wants to act again

Remember when Drake played Jimmy Brooks on the wildly-popular Canadian teen drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation. He was only 14-years-old at the time. Drake claims he was actually kicked off the show in part because he was starting to make music. In his interview with W Art, he recalls attempting to balance both of his passions.

“Back then, I’d spend a full day on set and then go to the studio to make music until 4 or 5 a.m. I’d sleep in my dressing room and then be in front of the cameras again by 9 a.m. Eventually, they realized I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose,” he says. “I chose this life.”

And by “this life,” he of course means music and being one of the most popular artists around. NBD.

But, while Drake has experienced immense success since then in the music industry, he’s never really forgotten his passion for acting. In fact, in the interview, he says that he’d love to act again.

“I can’t wait to get back into acting,” he says. “No one ever asks me to do movies, and although music is my focal point now, I’d love to do a film. That was the life I lived before, and it would be interesting to live it again.”

Um, what? That was just the sound of us fainting, getting back up and then fainting again. Drake? Back to acting? And this time on the big screen? That sounds like a dream come true to us.

Can someone cast Drake in a film, ASAP please and make this happen? We’d love to see him return to acting again. And after seeing him as a totally kickass SNL host, we’re rooting for a comedy.

You can pick up the new issue of W Art featuring Drake on Oct. 27.
