Downton Abbey is coming back and this season 6 trailer is proof

Get your finest dining gowns ready and polish the silver — Downton Abbey is coming back! The sixth and final season (say it ain’t so!) premieres January 3, but while we still have some time to wait, we are living for this trailer.

The next season has been described as “the end of an era,” the transition of which has been the focus of the entire show. The Crawley family has to adapt to the sudden shifts of the early 20th century, while dealing with Lord Grantham’s constantly awful financial decisions.

The trailer has everything you’d want. Lady Mary is casting shade at Lady Edith, who just wants to live her life. Lord Grantham is confronted with the changing times in which he lives, while Mr Carson gets bristly about embracing a more modern way of life.

Oh, Downton. We sure will miss you.
