Dog lovers rejoice — you can now have your domain name end in “dot-dog”

Good news, dog lovers!

You (or your dog…obvs) can now have a domain name ending in dot-dog instead of dot-com or dot-org or all the other ho-hum extensions that aren’t dot-dog. This is awesome news for veterinarians, groomers, dog walkers, trainers, pet stores and anyone who hearts their furry friend. (So basically all of us.)

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Hold up. What about dot-cat?? The news for cat lovers (again, all of us) is not so awesome. Dot-cat actually already exists, but it doesn’t have much to do with felines. Or anything to with them, really. The default setting for .cat is for websites using Catalan, the native language of the eastern Iberian Peninsula.

But back to dogs…

We’re thinking this is a great time for dogs all over the world to get their paws online and start websites. Because TBH there can’t be too many cute animals on the Internet. It’s literally impossible. And there are a few dogs out there that we need to get on this right away. You know who you are, doggy internet stars. So do we.

Here are the dot-dog websites that we need to exist. Like now.

Teddy.dog

Tonkey, the dog who looks like a teddy bear, OWNS the Internet right now, you guys. Mainly because of pics like this on Instagram:

When Tonkey first came on the scene, we weren’t sure if she was a bear or a dog. The mystery has been solved. (Dog.) Thank goodness, because dot-bear just isn’t going to happen.

Tuna.dog

With over 1.5 million followers on IG, Tuna the rescue chiweenie is a MAJOR celeb. So major that she does Anna Kendrick even better than Anna Kendrick does. Plus she can rock an overbite like nobody’s business. We need more Tuna. Lots more.

Munchkin.dog

Yes, you guys. That’s a legit dog. She’s wearing a teddy bear costume made from an actual, hollowed-out teddy bear, so we understand the confusion. She originally wore it for Halloween, but once YouTube users got a look at her, they demanded more Munchkin. (Because of course they did.) Now we’ve seen her hitting the treadmill, taking a stroll through New York and going full-on Ewok. Just imagine what she could do with her own dot-dog.

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? We know you can do it, dogs of the Internet. .
