Donald Trump’s name is being bleeped out of the upcoming season of “Broad City”
Leave it to Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer to take a political stance in the most hilarious way. The two stars and creators of Broad City have decided to “bleep” out Donald Trump’s name from Season 4 of the show as if it’s a curse word.
In the whacky world of Broad City, Trump is literally “He Who Shall Not Be Named.”
Jacobson and Glazer shared their creative choice with USA Today. Glazer said that they had originally written Season 4 predicting that Hilary Clinton would win the election. But after “this game-show host became president of our country, we rewrote a lot,” Glazer told the publication.
She concluded with, "There's no airtime for this orange (person). We bleep his name the whole season."
Even though the president will be bleeped out of the show, that doesn’t mean Glazer and Jacobson won’t be talking about him and his presidential acts. They told USA Today that one episode works around the idea that women who are in touch with their womanhood are actually witches.
"Ilana's 'powers' are decreasing during the current administration because it's just so hard to (orgasm) when you know so many people are in such danger," Glazer explained. "So Ilana works through her Trump-related (hang-up) and it's wild."
Although we’re almost positive this genius edit will have no effect on *bleep* — we’re banking on the fact that he probably doesn’t watch Broad City, or Comedy Central in general — but the feminists of America are giving our comedic angels huge virtual high-fives.
