Donald Trump was roasted on Comedy Central and this one surprising topic was TOTALLY off-limits
Do you remember when Donald Trump was the focus of the 2011 Comedy Central roast? The event now has ~special~ meaning considering Trump’s run for president. Looking back, the one topic he wouldn’t let participants roast him for seems *super* telling—specifically, the fact that no one was allowed to joke about his money.
According to US Magazine, Aaron Lee, a writer for the roasts, explained the situation.
“Each year, the ‘roastee’ has certain topics they declare off-limits. It’s always interesting to learn what is ‘sacred’ for a celebrity.”
Hm. It’s actually sort of nice that roastees get to pick something super touchy to avoid. After all, don’t we all have a thing or two we just can’t handle joking about? According to Vulture, one of the participants in Trump’s roast revealed Trump’s simple rule when it came to what was NOT to be discussed in the roast.
”Don’t say I have less money than I say I do. Make fun of my kids, do whatever you want, just don’t say I don’t have that much money.”
It’s pretty shocking that Trump would rather have his children publicly mocked than his wealth discussed. We’re for sure interested in the fact that Trump doesn’t want to be asked about his money (or lack thereof?). Considering that he’s running largely based on his supposed business sense, we would have expected him to be thrilled about the opportunity to ~brag~. But it appears that isn’t the case at all, making us wonder: Donald Trump, what are you hiding?
