Donald Trump has dubbed Steve Bannon “Sloppy Steve,” and the internet can’t decide whether it’s a good or bad thing
Steve Bannon, once President Donald Trump’s chief strategist and right-hand man, has had a sudden fall from grace. In Trump’s latest condemnation, the president lashed out at Bannon, nicknaming him “Sloppy Steve” on Twitter.
On January 3rd, quotes released from Michael Wolff’s upcoming book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House showed Bannon bashing Trump and his family. In one instance, Bannon told Wolff that a June 2016 meeting Donald Trump Jr. had with a Russian lawyer was “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.”
After the comments were released, Trump was quick to issue an official statement disavowing Bannon. Trump wrote that when the strategist was fired from his White House position in August, “he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.” Later that night, Trump issued a cease-and-desist letter ordering that Bannon refrain from talking to media personnel.
Then, to add insult to injury, Trump bestowed the name “Sloppy Steve” on Bannon, in a reference to the Breitbart chairman’s disheveled appearance (and the fact that he always wears so many shirts). Trump used the term twice on January 5th: first in a tweet that accused Wolff’s book of spreading misinformation and then in a separate tweet 12 hours later.

The internet was conflicted about Trump’s newly devised epithet.
CNN reporter Chris Cillizza wrote that he felt “Sloppy Steve” was more effective than “Crooked Hillary.” Twitter users weighed in to offer their own opinions of Trump’s pet names, with some finding “Sloppy Steve” more entertaining than others.
In the hierarchy of Trump nicknames, I think "Sloppy Steve" is superior to "Crooked Hillary" but still not better than "Lyin' Ted."
Thoughts?

Comedian Kumail Nanjiani joked that the pejorative sounded like the name of a sandwich while also taking a shot at Bannon’s alt-right politics. false
But not everyone was amused with Trump’s name-calling.
Some pointed out that the president had been the one who initially appointed Bannon to his position and that it was hypocritical of Trump to pretend they had never been allies. Others implied that Trump’s behavior was unpresidential.

Do not ever forget, YOU put supposedly crazy, lying Sloppy Steve on the NSC. The most important part of the White House, first time a political guy on it. It caused horror & YOU said Bannon needed to be there.

Then why did you install Sloppy Steve Bannon as Chief Strategist for the White House, say he was an equal partner with the Chief of Staff and place him on the National Security Council?

No matter how catchy Bannon’s new nickname may be, we can’t help but feel that picking fights on Twitter is unpresidential. Trump should be focusing on his job, not his personal grudges.
