Donald Trump once gave Daniel Radcliffe some pretty interesting advice

Daniel Radcliffe has gotten used to meeting a lot of people and doing interviews, but when he was younger, he used to be pretty nervous before going on set. By now, he probably has some pretty strange stories — but this one is one of the funniest (and weirdest) stories we’ve heard yet.

Last night, he went on Late Night with Seth Meyers and talked about how, before an interview with The Today Show when he was just starting his career (at the young age of 11!), he crossed paths with someone famous. He had never been on television before, and was incredibly nervous (who wouldn’t be?). Well, Donald Trump was also there, and somehow the two of them met — likely, a meeting coordinated by someone who was there with Trump — and Radcliffe got some…interesting advice.

Trump just sort of walked up to him, and Radcliffe said, “He was like, ‘How are you?’ and I was like, ‘I’m really nervous. I don’t know what I’m gonna talk about on the show.’ And he just said, ‘You just tell them you met Mr. Trump.’ To this day, I can’t even relate to that level of confidence.”

We don’t have the footage from that interview, but we’re curious to know whether Daniel talked about Trump on The Today Show that day — that would’ve made for an interesting interview, indeed. Here’s the interview from Late Night in full:
