Dominos reads our minds, invents a pizza button

You’ve heard of a panic buttons before, because it’s a small little button installed in your home or workplace and you hit it when you need emergency services ASAP. Now get ready for the future, because there’s a pizza button out there. It’s a small little button installed in your home or workplace and you hit it when you need pizza services ASAP.

This is all thanks to Domino’s Pizza, which is launching the “Easy Order” pizza button, which will literally bring a pizza to you at the touch of a button. Once again, it will bring a pizza to you at the touch of a button.

The button is a physical stand-alone button that you’ll pair with your phone, Domino’s Pizza App, and all this magic happens via Bluetooth. After setting up a profile on the app with your favorite pizza of choice, when the mood strikes you for some cheesy goodness, just hit the button. And voilà, shortly a pizza will be delivered to your doorstep. No picking up the phone, no navigating around online, literally no struggle at all to place the order. It’ll be as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Launching in December, Domino’s will start handing these Easy Order buttons out via a social media campaign, where I imagine you’ll have to profess your undying love for pizza and explain why you NEED this button in your life (or whatever else Domino’s has cooked up for a competition). If you don’t snag a button during the first roll out, there will be a second one come February. If you miss out on that, there’s always the Digital Easy Order button online, but who wants to order off of a mobile device when you can order off of a magical pizza BUTTON?

There’s only one downside to all of this, and please don’t cry too much: the button is only launching in the U.K. I know, I know. I can hear your dreams shattering all the way over here. But hey, stateside here we can still order pizza via emoji! That’s pretty cool. I imagine that due to the overwhelming popularity of the pizza button, it’ll make the transatlantic trip eventually. Then we’ll claim our own pizza buttons, and hang it over the fireplace for everyone to admire.
