Dolly Parton is giving an incredibly generous gift to victims of the Tennessee wildfires
It’s wonderful to see celebrities who take time to give back to the communities that love and support them. And seeing Dolly Parton pledge to donate to Tennessee families who have been affected by the wildfires in the area is seriously heartwarming.
Dolly Parton announced on a video that she would be giving $1,000 every month to families in Gatlinburg, Tennesee who have been victims of these fires.
The icon included a heartfelt message behind her donation. In addition to her natural generosity, she grew up in the area. So she knew she had to do something to give back to the community she loves.
"Now, I've always believed that charity begins at home," Dolly said before announcing her intention to create the "My People Fund."
The “My People Fund” will focus its generosity solely on the families most affected by these wildfires.
She said, "We want to make sure that the Dollywood Foundation provides $1,000 a month to all those families that have lost their homes in the fires until they get back up on their feet."
And she encourages people to visit her Dollywood Foundation website to support and learn more about her efforts.
Dolly is clearly already in the giving spirit, with her recent popular holiday special, Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, having just aired on NBC.
Between this incredible generosity and heart-meltingly sweet holiday special, Dolly is basically a beautiful Santa Claus. And we could not love her more.
