This dog escaped from an animal hospital by using his mouth and snout, and we are marveling at his skills

We don’t plan on busting out of anywhere anytime soon, but if we were going to, we’d definitely consider enlisting the help this dog that escaped from an animal hospital. Don’t be fooled by their drooling, tail-chasing and inability to grasp the English language: Canines are quite the clever creatures, and this dog using his snout to open doors is the ultimate proof.

Like humans, you can tell a lot about a dog by its companions. That said, if we saw a pack of pooches running with this door-opening, escape artist of a dog, we’d assume they were a pretty smart, determined bunch.

Apparently, this adventure-seeking animal named General couldn’t take another moment of hanging out with the other barking boarders at Aquia-Garrisonville Animal Hospital and decided to make a run for it. The 10-year-old Great Pyrennes was supposed to be staying at the facility until his humans returned from vacationing in Virginia Beach. But he had other plans, as shown on the hospital’s surveillance video that captured him in the act of blowing the joint.

Apparently, busting out of a kennel takes a lot out of a dog, as General was found a short while later napping in someone’s yard. After being reunited with his family, the daring dog’s human discussed his unusual “skill.”

“He’s a little Houdini,” owner Travis Campbell told ABC affiliate WJLA of General’s hospital escape. “When it comes to doors, he can get a lot of doors open.”

So, let’s get this straight: We have grounded teenagers getting stuck in their bedrooms, meanwhile this dog is opening doors with his mouth and snout like it’s nothing. Clearly, we have some things to work on, fellow humans.
