These costumed pups are giving us dress-up envy
Having a rough day? Need something to cheer you up? It’s a good thing that cute animals in costumes will always be there on the Internet for you, but let’s up the cuteness ante with two cute dogs in different pop culture-inspired costumes. That’s right: Double dog cosplay.
Cosplay, or costume play, usually describes costumes inspired by or from Japanese media like anime, manga, or visual culture. In the case of Shiba Inu dogs S and H, as documented by their crafty owner, cosplay is the more appropriate term for these pups’ outfits. While some of these costumes are recognizable…
(Hey, there’s Mario and Toad!)
…some of them are a little more niche, like these costumes celebrating Japan’s Tanabata festival.
On those occasions when a double costume isn’t required, these pups are happy to model some solo costumes, like one for this very familiar American superhero:
…a cup of ramen…
…and at the intersection of geeky and adorable, this costume of NASA’s New Horizons satellite (the one that got pictures of Pluto).
Follow along H and S’s cute cosplay adventures here. These two are pawsitively cute, and we can’t wait to see what other outfits they and their owner have to share.
