Recipes inspired by every ‘Doctor Who’ episode ever = Genius
Whovians, prepare for a feast!
The fantastically tasty mind of geek cookbook author and creator of Kitchen Overlord, Chris-Rachael Oseland, is busy whipping up an all-new culinary experiment in her volcanic lair. Clad once again with an apron and monocle, the food-loving mad scientist is taking another “wibbly wobbly journey through space and time” to bring foodies everywhere even more delectable treats by regenerating her Dining With The Doctor Cookbook.
This second edition, which is being funded with the help of Kickstarter, will finally be the awesome book Oseland dreamed of publishing in the first place—a much-needed update to her surprisingly record-selling black-white-&-self-printed 2012 version, taking all of its best content, doubling the total number of recipes, and handsomely binding together a hardcopy recipe book that any geek would be proud to decorate their coffee table with.
With more than 140 Whovian recipes (including 60 from the original cookbook and 60+ new recipes), interior artwork by “Edible Illustrator” Tom Gordon, high-quality photography, bonus chapters for Fish Fingers and cocktails, as well as an updated index complete with dietary restrictions, Oseland’s newest culinary adventure is bound to be the ultimate treat. Plus, the retitled book, Dining With the Doctor: Regenerated, will have recipes for every episode of series one through eight, taking you all the way from Eccleston to Capaldi. Yes, I repeat, every single episode. Each recipe also includes a bit of a recap. What’s not to love?
According to the master chef herself, eighty percent of the new recipes have already been tested and as of right now, she’s planning to finish things off by moving towards photography sessions. One hundred percent of all funds from Kickstarter will be used to print the book, print rewards, and be used for postage for mailing the book out. And though a little over $7000 has already been raised towards the $9,995 goal, there are still seven whole days left to contribute until the campaign ends on June 2.
So step up Dr. Who fans, you know your stomachs are already rumbling! Help put Oseland’s “labor of love” project onto bookshelves everywhere. If all goes as planned, you’ll be able to wow all your hungry guests with extravagant dishes like Deviled Ood with Horshradish and Bacon (Season 2, Episode 9: The Satan Pit) and L.I.N.D.A.’s Tardis Wellington (Season 2, Episode 10: Love & Monsters) by next June. Even more nit-picky guests such as vegan, kosher, or celiac disease-prone friends will be utterly satisfied. Get ready to chow down Whovians!
