DIY: ‘Totes’ Tote Bag

Beach season is in full swing. We totes DIY’ed the perfect tote bag to stash all your sunbathing goodies and chick-lit in. Turn a boring canvas bag into a cheeky conversation piece with our Totes Tote. Totally!
Materials
- Canvas tote bag (Michaels)
- Letter Stencils (Michaels)
- Heart Stencil (Print and cut!)
- Acrylic Paint (Martha Stewart)
- Foam brush (Michaels): for deetz on colors, see text below
- ½ Yard lace
- Scissors
- Painter’s tape
How To
Step 1: Carefully cut out T, O, E and S stencils.
Step 2: Lay out TOTES, leaving space to reuse the T. (Tip: use a straight edge to align!)
Step 3: Tape down stencils.
Step 4: Paint with lighter shade and let it dry. Don’t forget to move the T!
Step 5: Lay lace over letters + tape.
Step 6: Paint with darker shade. (Tip: keep brush dry-ish to prevent bleeding!)
Step 7: Tape lace to heart stencil.
Step 8: Paint hearts (or stars or polka dots or kittens or whateva!) around bag.
Step 9: Let it dry then totes enjoy!
