Disneyland *might* be replacing one of its most beloved rides, and we don’t know how to feel
There’s a rumor going around that Disneyland is making a major change to one of their rides, and it’s giving us major feelings. We just aren’t sure what those feelings are yet.
The rumor was started last month by various reliable sources that Disney is considering re-theming Disney California Adventure’s Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and it looks like the rumor is no longer just a rumor. Nothing has been confirmed directly from Disney, but MiceAge is reporting that it is, in fact, happening.
Disney will allegedly be shutting down the Tower of Terror this fall to revamp the ride for a May opening that coincides with the opening of the new movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Disney expert sources agree that the change will be happening, but no one seems to be able to agree on what the change will actually entail. MiceAge reports that the new ride will revolve around the Collector, while SlashFilm reports that the storyline will focus on the prison breakout segment from the first film.
According to the reports, the changes to the beloved ride will be happening because new parks chairman Bob Chapek would like a bigger Marvel presence at California Adventure.
We’re pretty sure most Disney and Marvel fanatics don’t disagree, but must the presence take over such a classic ride?
Seriously, we’d like to know.
