These pictures of Disney princesses as “X-Men” characters are captivating

Have you ever wondered what Disney princesses would look like if they were actually mutants? Let’s be honest, you probably have. These princesses have been reimagined just about every other way under the sun, and though there’s no new Disney princess movie coming out this year (SAD FACE, I know), there will be a brand new X-Men movie this summer. ‘Bout time they got mashed together.http://designnurd.tumblr.com/post/138193491546/disneyprincess-as-xmen-character-arielhttp://designnurd.tumblr.com/post/138177704621/disneyprincess-as-xmen-character-cinderella-as

Diego Gomez, a digital artist, has reimagined some of our favorite princesses, but this time, they’ve got superpowers. Or, as he writes, Gomez thinks of them as “cosplaying.” Doesn’t matter if they’re heading off to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters or to Comic-Con, we still love them.http://designnurd.tumblr.com/post/138181897101/disneyprincess-as-xmen-character-merida-ashttp://designnurd.tumblr.com/post/138184723291/disneyprincess-as-xmen-character-mulan-as-x23http://designnurd.tumblr.com/post/138187420576/disneyprincess-as-xmen-character-aurora-as

What might be even more impressive is that Gomez did all of this work off of his iPad. Yes, iPad. He’s got superpowers himself, and it’s creating this kind of magnificent art on a tablet. If you want to check out how these ladies came to life, he’s got a YouTube channel full of mesmerizing tutorials. You can check out all his work over on his website.

Never thought we’d be able to say, “Disney Princess Mutant and proud!” But there’s a first time for everything.
