You need to see these gorgeous Disney Princess illustrations just released from the Disney Vault
A selfie with your favorite book is called a shelfie, obviously. Right now, Disney wants to see your best shelfie for a part of their current campaign, The Magic of Storytelling.
You + Books + Magic = kids reading everywhere.
The Magic of Storytelling campaign is one that aims to bring books to children in need, via First Book, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to children in need. All you’ve got to do to contribute to this campaign is take your own shelfie, and share it it to Instagram and Twitter, as Disney and First Book will then do the rest.
If we’re going to share some pictures with Disney, they want to share something with us in return. As part of The Magic of Storytelling campaign, Disney has released a few, little-seen image from the Disney Vault exclusively with HelloGiggles — and they’re princess pictures, of course, because if there’s one thing we love more than magic, reading, and Disney, it’s princesses.
The pictures, a collection of artwork that can be found in many Disney books throughout the company’s 80+ year history, was curated by artists at Disney Publishing Worldwide.
"Outside of the studio, and really even including the studio, publishing is the only place in the company that does retellings [of the princess stories]," Ken Shue, VP of Global Art for Disney Publishing Worldwide, explains to HelloGiggles. "[Our work in publishing is] about continuing the narrative for all of these characters. This is the only place within the company where that is [continuing on], whether with television shows, or another feature film. We're creating and illustrating stories that are printed around the world for all of these characters. "
Their attention to princess detail is enchanting, because every single piece of artwork that Disney Publishing Worldwide churns out is gorgeous.
If you’re feeling inspired by these amazing pieces right now, the best thing to do would be to share your own shelfie, to help children out there enjoy these beautiful pieces, too.
You can share your own shelfie between now and March 31st, and find out more information about the campaign here.
