Disney is going to launch a podcast, and the dream that we wished has come true

Ever since we can remember, Disney has been a huge part of our lives. Even as adults, we still love singing along to our favorite movies and reliving our childhoods at Walt Disney World. And now, Disney podcasts are coming, giving us one more way to embrace our love of all things Disney.

Today, May 2nd, Disney announced during its NewFronts presentation in Manhattan that it will release at least one podcast through Disney Digital Network this year. The push for Disney podcasts is reportedly a way for the brand to connect with millennials and Generation Z, which collectively make up 70 percent of the company’s fan base. Titled Disney Backstage, the new audio program will spill behind-the-scenes secrets from our favorite ’90s animated movies, starting with The Lion King. According to WWD, the podcast’s teaser revealed that the movie was originally referred to as “Bambi in Africa.”

And there’s even more good news. Disney Digital Network will also be partnering with Tastemade to produce an online Disney cooking channel, known as Disney Eats. Videos on the website will feature recipes parents can make with their children, with a focus on healthy eating. So, sadly, it sounds like Disney Eats probably won’t be teaching us how to bake Dole Whip Donuts. In addition to the online cooking channel, Disney will also sell products like cookbooks and utensils — so all your meals can be fit for Disney royalty.

On top of all these exciting new digital projects, Disney is also making innovative changes to its theme parks, including adding an homage to movies like Inside Out and The Incredibles with the opening of Pixar Pier.
