Disney transformed Spaceship Earth at Epcot into the Death Star and we are like whoa
With mere days before the exciting December 16th release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Disney (and everybody else) have been going Star Wars crazy. And now, they took that craze to the next level.
Seeing Disney transform Epcot’s iconic monument, Spaceship Earth, into the Death Star is a terrifying (but oh-so-exciting) dream come true.
Of course, there has been lots of excitement about all sorts of Star Wars-based experiences at the park. But the upcoming movie, Rogue One, has been on everyone’s mind.
Since Rogue One follows a group of rebel fighters who valiantly attempt to steal the plans for the Death Star’s creation, it seems only right that the Death Star be front and center somewhere in the Disney park.

The event flawlessly dazzled the lucky attendees. It begins with Stormtroopers (obviously) surrounding the area. There’s even a cameo from Mads Mikkelsen, who is in Rogue One. Things get real when the all-black Stormtroopers (aka the Advanced Weapons Research Troopers) show up.
Suddenly, the Spaceship Earth becomes engaged in that scary green light that we know the power of, and we are all shaking in our boots.
The whole event ends with the goosebumps-inducing sound of Darth Vader’s breathing. Everything about this transformation is seriously exciting and makes us wish a new Star Wars movie would come out, like, every month. That’s not too much to ask, is it?
