We’re totally excited for Disney Channel’s newest show, which stars one of our ‘Jane the Virgin’ faves

We’ve got the next big Disney Channel show you’re going to want to check out. Following in the footsteps of some of our favs before her — like Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez — Jenna Ortega has just landed a starring role in the network’s brand new show, Stuck In The Middle and she is totally going to become our next favorite Disney Channel star. This is a huge deal because we’re already in love with little Ortega, and it’ll also bring another Latino-family show to our television sets. We can’t wait.

You’re probably familiar with Ortega because she happens to be on another Latino-family show, and it’s one that we love, love, love. Ortega plays young Jane on Jane the Virgin, so we already know that she’s got impressive acting chops. Also the undying love of Gina Rodriguez, which is wort its weight in gold.

As for Stuck In the Middle, it’ll focus around young Harley, played by Ortega, who is just  of seven children in the Diaz family. According to Variety, Harley is “an engineering whiz who uses her inventions to navigate life as the middle child” and her overlooked placement in the middle of the family “proves to be both a blessing and a curse, as she maneuvers her way through the everyday antics that come with being part of a big family.” Ortega is pretty stoked about her new gig, and we are, too.

And not only will Ortega have one show on Disney Channel, she’ll actually have two. Ortega is also lending her voice to the Sofia the First spin-off, Elena of Avalor. Both shows are set to premiere in 2016, which means it’s going to be a pretty big year for Ortega. We know she’s going to handle it all with flying colors.
