Dick Van Dyke celebrated his 90th birthday with a ‘Mary Poppins’ flash mob, because life is amazing
When you’re a music and movie icon, you have to celebrate yourself in style. So when Dick Van Dyke, star of unforgettable movies like Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, turned 90 years old over the weekend, he got some help from fans and performers to create the ultimate Mary Poppins flash mob, right in the middle of The Grove in Los Angeles.
Performing songs like “Jolly Holiday” and “Step in Time,” the mob danced their way through The Grove to the delight of bystanders and, of course, Dick Van Dyke, who was watching from above. However, he couldn’t resist joining in, and later immersed himself in the mob for a performance of “Let’s Go Fly A Kite.” It was such an amazing way to celebrate everything he’s achieved in his life, and he took to Twitter to express his gratitude:
