These details about the Barack and Michelle Obama love story will make you go awwww

The Obamas are the ULTIMATE #relationshipgoals. They’re not just America’s best power couple, but they’re amazing parents to Malia and Sasha, they have a down to earth perspective on life despite being so successful, and they’re both constantly fighting the good fight when it comes to feminism. What more could we want? How about a movie about how the Obamas met and fell in love?

BIG YES to that. We didn’t even know how badly we needed to see it until People released some details about Barack and Michelle’s love story. Now that we’ve had a taste, we’re obsessed.

They met working at a Chicago law firm, where the future POTUS was working as a summer associate, and the future FLOTUS was his adviser.

Although she expected him to be a big ol’ nerd, she admitted to CNN that she was charmed.

“He was cuter than I thought he’d be,” she said.

Their first date was a long, romantic walk that spanned the entire day. A museum, a movie, a drink. As if we didn’t love President Obama enough, now we know he’s also the perfect man. (Have you seen the pictures that go around of young Obama? Dreamboat alert.)

Michelle Obama definitely agreed, telling the Washington Post:

“We spent the whole day together. He showed all the sides. He was hip. Cultural. Sensitive. The fountain, nice touch. The walk, sensitive.

President Obama chimed in with his usual sense of humor, adding, “take tips, gentlemen.”

Le sigh.

The President doesn’t hesitate to say nice things about his wife, and we’re melting a little.

“Michelle is a tremendously strong person, and has a very strong sense of herself and who she is and where she comes from. But I also think in her eyes you can see a trace of vulnerability that most people don’t know, because when she’s walking through the world she is this tall, beautiful, confident woman.”

If your adorableness quota for the day hasn’t already been exceeded, we have one more heart-warmingly precious tidbit of information for you. As Michelle Obama told People, the POTUS tucks her into bed each night.

“We call it tucking. He’ll come and say good night and turn the lights out and give me a kiss, and we’ll talk. He’s like, ready to be tucked? I’m like, yes, I am.”

STOP. Could they BE more perfect? We’re not sure if we’re more in love with the POTUS or the FLOTUS, but we’re definitely in love with their rom-com-worthy love story.
