Meet the new funny lady on the ‘Daily Show’ (you might already know her)

Trevor Noah’s Daily Show kicks off SO SOON, and ahead of its September 28th premiere, the show is gearing up to do big things and add some big names. Along with returning Daily Show correspondents Jessica Williams and contributor Kristen Schaal, there’s going to be a new funny lady around the desk, too. Desi Lydic has just joined the Daily Show, and we are psyched.

You might already be familiar with Lydic if you’re very much obsessed with MTV’s Awkward (and if you aren’t yet, get on that). Lydic played the school’s guidance counselor, who tried her hardest to give Jenna Hamilton good life information, that was never really great life information, and then she became BFFs with Jenna’s mom, and then things got even more awkward. But we loved every second of it.

Along with Awkward, Lydic also had roles in We Bought a Zoo, and appeared on The Client List and Good Luck Charlie. Plus, she’s worked with the Groundlings and Improv Olympics in Los Angeles. All of these things, of course, have prepared her to bring us the Daily Show news in the most hilarious way possible. Are you super excited to see what she’s going to do as a brand new correspondent for Noah? We are.

Also, just to allow excitement to mount, here are two pix of Desi that make us LOL every time.

Noah’s new Daily Show kicks off on September 28th, but there’s no word yet as to when Lydic will make her first appearance, let alone what her correspondent specialties will be. Teens? Dogs? Awkward-ness? Whatever they are, we’re so ready to watch.
