Madison De La Garza opened up about sister Demi Lovato’s recovery in a hopeful, yet bittersweet, new interview

Demi Lovato’s family has been speaking out about her current rehab stay after her overdose in July, and according to them, Demi is doing so much better. Demi’s mom, Dianna De La Garza, recently revealed that the singer’s future is looking bright since she entered rehab, and now Demi’s 16-year-old sister Madison De La Garza is echoing that sentiment.

“Demi’s doing really well, Madison told the Millennial Hollywood podcast on Monday. “She’s working really hard on her sobriety and we’re all so incredibly proud of her. It’s been crazy for our family. It’s been a lot. But we’ve been through a lot together, and every single time we go through something, we always come out on the other side 100 times stronger than before. We’ve just been so thankful for everything, for the little things.

However, the moment in the interview that truly wrecked us was when Madison revealed what she’s looking forward to doing with her big sister once she leaves rehab.

“It’s so small, but go to Menchie’s [Frozen Yogurt], Madison said. “Honestly, I’m more of a Pinkberry person, but she likes Menchie’s so we usually go there.

Back in August, Demi celebrated her 26th birthday and Madison honored the occasion with an emotional Instagram post. Recognizing the fact that Demi’s overdose could have been fatal, Madison wrote: “Today could have been one of the worst days of my life, but instead I get to spend it thanking God, the incredible doctors, Demi’s team, and everyone across the world who offered their support — without all of these people, I wouldn’t have my big sister anymore.”

As always, we’re sending nothing but love to Demi on her journey towards recovery.
