Demi Lovato’s new single “Confident” is everything we wanted it to be
Summer might be over, but that doesn’t mean dance parties and serious rock sessions are over with it. In fact, Demi Lovato just released her newest single, “Confident,” and it is the perfect song to become your fall anthem! We know that’s a strong statement to make, but it is SO good that we haven’t been able to stop playing on repeat since it dropped yesterday and we’re pretty sure you won’t be able to either.
This summer, the 23-year-old singer released “Cool For the Summer” off her upcoming album, Confident and all was right in the world. We hadn’t heard from Demi since her 2013 self-titled album, Demi, and although her Twitter banter and random stage performances were keeping her on our radar, her new album is everything we’ve been desperately waiting for and more. PS: The actual album will be available on October 16, 2015, so mark your calendars. Or, you can preorder it on Amazon Music now, which let’s face it you know you want to do.
Until the full album is available (we already have the tracklist and are totally fan-girling over it now), you’ll just have to turn up “Confident” and belt out the killer lyrics for the next few weeks. Trust us, that won’t be hard to do once you take a listen.
The song starts out with trumpets and Demi asking us, “Are you ready?” To be honest, we didn’t know if we were ready, but the Texas native didn’t disappoint. The beat is strong and has a killer sound that is taunting you to get up and dance, which we’re not embarrassed to report we did a lot of while listening to the jam.
The tune is sassy, sexy and totally empowering. Did you expect anything less from Demi? She’s come a long way since her Disney days and this song is proof of that transformation. Demi has had some serious lows, but she is in a good place now and she’s not afraid to let her confidence show and like the song says, “what’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being confident?” Answer: Nothing! You go girl!
