Demi Lovato stands up for natural bodies in this #nophotoshop Instagram
Demi Lovato is constantly inspiring us, whether she’s talking about female empowerment or baring it all in a makeup-free photoshoot. She spreads body positivity in both her professional and personal life, especially when it comes to social media. The singer’s most recent Instagram shines a light (literally) on her natural beauty and confidence while promoting an important message.
During a photoshoot with Allure magazine, the 23-year-old slipped away to the bathroom to a post a behind-the-scenes preview of her look, as well as to celebrate her body in all its un-Photoshopped glory. Obviously, she looks amazing. “I’m proud to show my body the way it naturally is,” she writes. “(And there was great lighting…)”
This echoes earlier comments made by the singer. “When I think of ‘confident,’ I think of many things,” she told Vanity Fair in a video. “But one thing in particular is feeling comfortable in your own skin.”
She also opened up about her past struggles with her body. “In the past, I suffered from eating disorders, and I basically went from hating every single inch of my body to working on myself and trying to figure out ways to love myself, love the skin that I’m in.”
We’re so happy that Demi’s in such a good place with her self-esteem, and that she’s using her confidence to inspire others to love themselves exactly how they are. Plus, who among us can resist such great lighting?
