Here are 14 delicious ways to celebrate National PB&J Day
If someone asks you what your favorite holiday is and you don’t say National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, you’re so wrong (or allergic to peanuts, in which case, my bad). I’m pretty sure that it is scientifically impossible to come up with a sandwich more delicious than PB&J. Like, why do delis even exist? There should just be PB&J food trucks everywhere. (Note to self: Abandon all other life goals and make this happen immediately.)
Anyway, if you didn’t know that April 2 is PB&J now, nobody can really blame you. Odds are you forgot to come out of the hole you were hiding in yesterday so that nobody pranked you, and you are forgiven for not always recognizing peanut butter jelly time. ALAS, here is your chance for redemption! There are so many delicious things you can do to celebrate this day (or really any day of the year), so get your spreading knife ready and whip yourself up one of these:
1. Grilled peanut butter and jelly
You don’t even need a recipe for this one. Make a PB&J sandwich, butter the outsides, and fry it up like a grilled cheese. Elvis is thumbs-upping you from the fried peanut butter sandwich cloud in the sky.
2. Peanut butter and jelly cupcakes
Honesty hour, guys: I almost abandoned writing this article so I could start shoving ingredient into a bowl to make these for myself. A co-worker of mine made PB&J cupcakes last week and they will change your life. Get the recipe here.
3. Peanut butter and jelly pancakes
When when you think that there is no way to improve either pancakes or PB&J, you discover our one true calling: COMBINING them. Get the recipe here.
4. Peanut butter and jelly fudge
Uh, who wouldn’t want to walk through the halls of your school or place of employ and be a total boss handing these babies out? Get the recipe here.
5. Peanut butter and jelly krispies
I would make these but I don’t trust myself not to eat them all in one sitting. Can you even imagine what they taste like warm??! Get the recipe here.
6. Peanut butter and jelly smoothie
This is the only healthy recipe I’ll give you, and in my defense, it was a total accident. It can’t help that its delicious. Get the recipe here.
7. Peanut butter and jelly dip
It’s basically queso, but with PB&J. Time to dip every cookie EVER into it. Get the recipe here.
8. Peanut butter and jelly popcorn
Slightly more classy than taking your PB&J jars into the movie theater and dumping them on your popcorn (which still does technically get the job done). Get the recipe here.
9. Peanut butter and jelly tiramisu
A tiramisu sized tear just rolled down my cheek. Who knew there was such beauty in the world? Get the recipe here.
10. Peanut butter and jelly cookie pie
I will literally never eat any other kind of pie or cookie again. This hybrid right here is the champion of everything. Get the recipe here.
11. Peanut butter and jelly oatmeal
OK, I lied, I put one more healthy thing in here. I eat this for breakfast like 50% my human days (the other 50% I usually just straight up eat PB&J toast), and it has never failed to impress. Get the recipe here.
12. Peanut butter and jelly monkey bread
Look, making monkey bread is probably the closest my family members have come from ripping each other’s limbs off at 10 a.m. I shudder to think what kind of power the PB&J version would hold over us. Get the recipe here.
13. Peanut butter and jelly donuts
Yes and pleeeeeeeease, get in my stomach this instant. Get the recipe here.
14. Peanut butter and jelly cheesecake bites
HOW IS THIS A THING I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT? We can stop doing science now, guys. This is officially the peak of mankind’s abilities. Get the recipe here.
Sorry not sorry that I just wrecked all non-PB&J foods for you forever. In the worlds of our wise forefathers, IT’S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME.
