Summer is about to get a lot more deep-fried Twinkies

Hold on to your hats, snack lovers, because Walmart and Hostess have some BIG news. They’ve teamed up to make it incredibly easy for us to enjoy one of life’s greatest indulgences: deep-fried Twinkies. Yup, pretty soon we’ll be able to buy fried Twinkies at Walmart and eat them whenever we want.

The announcement came earlier this month from Anne D’Innocenzio, a writer at the Associated Press. She shared news of the deal on Twitter. false

The treats will live in the frozen food section, just waiting for us to buy them and heat them up in our ovens. We’re definitely excited to try them, and so is the rest of the internet. false false false false false

D’Innocenzio also tweeted that the fried Twinkies are going to be in Walmart stores starting August 22. Forget the state fair—now you can enjoy your favorite fried snack in the comfort of your own home. We’re not 100% certain what will make Deep Fried Twinkies different from just deep-frying regular Twinkies, but we guess we’ll have to grab a box to find out.

And to think, Twinkies were thisclose to going bankrupt and being discontinued a few years ago. Now they’re back and better than ever!
