Carrie Fisher’s mother, screen legend Debbie Reynolds, just released a heartfelt thank you to the world
Earlier today, we received the horribly tragic news that Carrie Fisher, an icon in every galaxy, had passed away at the age of 60. While landing in Los Angeles on December 23rd, Carrie had a heart attack and was immediately rushed to a hospital where she went into the emergency room, and later to the ICU. Through all of this, her mother, Debbie Reynolds, was by her side. Now, Debbie Reynolds is reaching out to all of us, to thank us for loving her daughter so much.
Debbie (herself, is a movie legend having starred in 1952’s Singing in the Rain) and Carrie were incredibly close, and talk about a family dynasty, with Debbie, Carrie, and Carrie’s daughter, Billie (of Scream Queens fame). The three of them could often be spotted on the red carpet together, dating back YEARS, and so much awwwww.
Over the weekend, Debbie tweeted out the smallest glimmer of hope that Carrie was going to be okay, but sadly, Carrie just didn’t pull through. After the news of Carrie’s passing started to spread across the internet, Debbie took to her Facebook page to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
It’s that last sentence that really breaks us: “Love Carries Mom [sic].”
We can only imagine what Debbie must be going through right now, because dealing with the loss of a child is something that should NEVER be experienced by any parent, no matter their age. We’re sending so much love to Debbie (and Billie) right now during this difficult time.
