Here’s what probably happened to Dean’s wife on ‘Gilmore Girls’
Gilmore Girls is coming back, and the world is a beautiful place. While who is, and isn’t, returning by any means official yet, there’s a good chance we’ll see the entire main crew back (Melissa McCarthy returning to the show is currently the #1 thing on my Christmas list).
The show not only focused on the life and times of the Gilmores, but also their ever expanding world in and around Stars Hollow. The show had so many supporting characters, and while it’s safe to bet that Kirk will be back, what about everyone else? The rumor is that Dean (Jared Padalecki) will return at some point during the four-episode revival, but what he’s probably not going to do is give a quick update on his failed marriage. No worries, we’ve got that here.
Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with Arielle Kebbel, who played Dean’s girlfriend-turned-wife Lindsay during the series. After Dean and Rory broke up, he started dating Lindsay. And then while he was married to Lindsay, Dean slept with Rory and it’s still a HOTLY DEBATED Rory Gilmore moment for the ages (I’m camp: Rory, how could you???).
One of the last times we see Lindsay, she’s throwing Dean’s stuff out the window, and demanding he move out. So what’s she up to now?
“I think she’d be making meatloaf for her best girl friends,” Kebbel explains, a nod to the fact that Lindsay was a self-proclaimed bad cook, who failed a few times trying to make meatloaf for her then-husband. Dean cheating on her was the end of the marriage, but Lindsay clearly got back on her feet, and is finding comfort with her BFFs in Stars Hollow.
There’s still a chance someone like Lindsay could return for the revival, which would make a perfect awkward moment for any sort of Rory-Dean-Lindsay meetup. Actually, let’s see if we can make that exact situation happen.
