So, THIS is what Dean on ‘Gilmore Girls’ has been up to for the past decade

If you’re like so many of us, you’ve been counting the days until the new Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life released and you’ve been crazy happy the past few days catching up with your favorites. We’ve missed Lorelei and Luke and Rory and have been dying to know what’s been going on with everyone. Well, we finally got to hear what Rory’s first love, Dean, has been up to all these years and it’s basically exactly what we predicted he would be up to.

We had already seen Logan and were shocked to the floor with what he (and Rory) were up to. We caught up with Jess a few times and we were holding our breath hoping the creators didn’t forget about Rory’s first boyfriend — and then we finally saw him!

Rory, who has been trying to figure a few things out had to make a stop at the only Stars Hollow grocery store and it was totally, completely fitting that she ran in to Dean. They did basically start their entire relationship based on a run in at the store.

We’re thankful that Dean, played by Jared Padalecki made an appearance, but we knew it was going to be a quick on based on how the conversation went. It was like any chat with someone you run into when you don’t expect it and try to cram years of catch up in like three minutes.

So, what is the abridged version of what Dean has been up to? Well, he sounds like he’s happy and of course, is an adorable father to three young kids with a fourth one on the way with his wife Jenny.

The two started talking about the book Rory is writing and when she asks if she can add him to the book and he wants to know what she’ll say — it reaffirmed our knowledge that Dean is a straight-up good guy.
