Dax Shepard celebrates being sober for 12 years with a tweet about Kristen Bell and their daughters
Dax Shepard has always been open about his sobriety and struggles with addiction, which continues to inspire us to this day. As for yesterday, it marked the 12 year anniversary of his sobriety, and Dax celebrated with a really sweet tweet dedicated to his family.
Shepard wrote,
“12 years ago today I came out of my last toxic, life threatening stupor. I now have a wife & babies & some self-esteem #gratitude #promises”

Overall, Shepard has the support of his friends, fans and family members — especially, his wife Kristen Bell.
“Seeing the world through his eyes has really opened mine to knowing that it is a disease and nobody is choosing to drink more than others,” Bell recently told People. “They are doing it because of a variety of reasons and they deserve the attention of a mental health professional, and not the county jail or however else we’re choosing to pretend we’re fixing the problem.”
Bell added that both she and Shepard are instilling the same open-mindedness in their children.
“I am trying to teach my kids not be stunted by country lines, language barriers, or religious boundaries,” she said. “And that all human beings, and everyone in the world is part of someone’s family and they should be treated as such.”
All we have to say is: Congrats on 12 years, Dax! We’re so proud of you!
