Dax Shepard revealed the worst thing about being married to Kristen Bell

We can’t imagine there are many cons, but Dax Shepard’s marriage to Kristen Bell has a downfall or two. Of course, it’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something we’re kind of glad we don’t need to face in our own relationships.

Shepard and Bell have been married for four years, and have been incredibly open about their married life. Back in September, Bell noted during an appearance on Harry that her and Shepard used to have “toxic fights,” with Bell telling host Harry Connick, Jr. that “We’d get in a fight because we’d fight a lot, and I’d yell something and then slam the bedroom door, then I’d slam the front door, then I’d get in my car and then I’d skid out the driveway and I would sit around the corner in my car,” noting how it probably wasn’t the best way to handle conflict. Since celebrities often like to pretend that everything is fine behind closed doors, this anecdote made us realize that we don’t know everything about their off-screen love.

While they’ve gotten past that, Shepard’s tale of being married to Bell is more funny than serious. After appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he opened up about how he’s not really sure what stories she tells in public.

"She does a ton of interviews, and you know eventually you just run out of stuff to talk about," the actor said. "I was at a restaurant last night — this is true, this is the honest truth — and this stranger comes up to me and he goes, 'Hey, I just read your kids walked in on you having sex.' I was like, 'What are you talking about?' He goes, 'Yeah, I saw a headline and your wife said your kids walked in on you having sex.' I don’t even know that she told that story. I don't know what version she told of it."

We can’t even imagine how awkward that must have been for him. But Shepard must be pretty used to it by now, as he stated that it “happens all the time.”

It’s also good that he got to tell his side of the story — in his eyes, it wasn’t as raunchy as people may believe — but surely, it was still a little awkward.

Perhaps this’ll serve as some initiative for Shepard to catch up on all of Bell’s appearances before going about his day.
