This famous YA author is publishing four new books next year, so clear your reading list

Attention all YA fans: David Levithan has not one, but four new novels on the way! YA novels have been dominating the reading lists of people of all ages. And it’s no wonder — YA is a versatile and engaging category of literature. There’s the epic The Hunger Games series if you love action and adventure, the Harry Potter page-turners if you’re in the mood for a little fantasy, and obviously anything and everything written by John Green if you just want to feel feels all day long. Levithan’s novels are definitely on par with these classics and lovers of the YA genre are understandably pumped to have so many new reads on the way.

The New York Times bestselling author is bringing you new stories as early as next fall so let the countdown begin! Sadly there’s been minimal information released about the upcoming books, but from what we have learned all four novels are going to be amazing. According to Mashable, all of the stories are being published by Alfred A. Knopf for Young Readers.

So what else do we have to tease? Well, two of the four books will be co-authored by Rachel Cohn, Levithan’s longtime collaborator best known for her collaboration on Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Cohn is teaming up with Levithan to pen The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily, which is a followup to Cohn and Levithan’s Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares.

Cohn and Levithan are also working together on a book called Sam & Ilsa, which will be a whole new story for fans to fall in love with. Mashable describes the novel as a “story about a set of twins who go to a fateful end-of-the-year party.” Twins? Parties? Things being “fateful”? Count us in.

But don’t worry: If you’re a Levithan purist, you’re in luck. He’s also releasing a new sequel to Every Day, which followed A, who woke up every day in a new body. We can’t wait for this one. The highly-anticipated book is a true sequel to the 2012 novel, unlike Another Day, which was a version of Every Day told from A’s love interest, Rihannon’s, perspective. The new book (the title of which has yet to be released) will pick up where Every Day left off. Yes, please.

As for Levithan’s final upcoming book, that one is being kept completely under wraps as of now, which makes it even more intriguing. Of course, we will have a lot of Levithan’s work to keep us occupied while we wait for details to be released.

Now, the only thing left to decide is who will play the leads in the inevitable and, let’s be honest, much-needed movie adaptions of these books? Our money’s on Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley to star in at least one of them because they’re basically YA movie royalty.
