David Harbour wore a Steve shirt *under* his tux at the 2018 Golden Globes
David Harbour hasn’t been shy about professing his love for co-star Joe Keery on Instagram and as it turns out, he secretly took the bromance to the Golden Globes. Harbour may not have won the award for Best Supporting Performance in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film — losing to Alexander Skarsgard and robbing us of another masterful acceptance speech — but he definitely came out of the award show a winner.
The Hellboy actor, who was nominated for his incredible turn as Chief Jim Hopper in Season 2 of Stranger Things, made the most of the night, making his major red carpet debut with rumored new girlfriend Alison Sudol, becoming BFFs with fellow Golden Globes “loser” Alfred Molina, reuniting with his adoptive TV daughter, and clearly living his best life surrounded by the biggest names in Hollywood.
While the Stranger Things crew came up empty-handed at the award show — losing Best Television Series – Drama to The Handmaid’s Tale — they took the loss in stride.
And following Harbour’s loss, Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy tweeted that it was probably for the best that he didn’t win, accompanied by a dashing photo of Harbour. He wrote, “Thank God he didn’t win. The room couldn’t have handled this.”

Yes, right there, David Harbour is not only continuing to profess his love for Keery, but even publicly voicing his support for Keery’s character Steve Harrington — who after a breakout season as a single mother to five tweens, is currently on the outside of the show’s major love triangle with Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton).
Seriously though, as if we couldn’t be any more obsessed with this bromance.
But if you were paying attention, and trust us, we were, David Harbour gave us a sneak peek of his Golden Globes T-shirt just before the awards show.
Revealing that he’d never actually make Keery shave even a single strand of that iconic hair off his beautiful head, in reference to their earlier bet, Harbour — posing in his shirt in front of a Stranger Things “for your consideration” billboard — thanked fans for their continued support of the seriesduring the run-up to the awards show.
"And y’all think I’d make him shave those chestnut luscious locks??" he wrote. "Silly misguided youth, whose side do you think I’m on for crying out loud?!?! You’re allowed to sit by the tv with impunity tonight and root for me, and root for us! We do the show for you, not for awards, but gold trophies are nice to put on the toilet tank in the apartment. And you know how I love to give a speech. If you watch the @goldenglobes tonight, enjoy it. I will too."
We love it! Hopefully Season 3 of Stranger Things finally sees Steve and Hopper *really* share some screen time!
