Breaking: Hopper now has a mustache for Stranger Things Season 3 — and he’ll always be a zaddy to us

Step aside, Chris Evans’ aggressive Lobby Hero ‘stache, because there’s a new mustachioed sheriff in town…literally.
When Season 3 of Stranger Things *finally* drops on Netflix, there may be something different about Chief Hopper. While the beloved sheriff is already a noted fan of facial hair, it appears he may be trading in the beard for a nice, thick mustache. Last week Stranger Things began production on Season 3 and that means one thing: Magical behind-the-scenes photos are BACK.
On Wednesday, David Harbour took to Instagram to share a selfie from the set of Stranger Things 3. Not only does the photo show him in full Hopper uniform, complete with his Indiana Jones hat and aviators, it also gives us our first full look at ‘stached Hopper in action…and guys, we’re here for it in a *pretty* big way.
Sorry, Evans — we love you and your new bearded Cap Steve Rogers, but your current, ahem, facial shenanigans have nothing on Harbour’s new Hopper ‘stache.
But while our jaws did temporarily drop at the thought of Hopper sporting a mustache in Season 3, it was 100% inevitable. Seriously, now we just wonder what took him *so long* to go full Magnum P.I.
In true Harbour form, it turns out the Hellboy actor’s been teasing us with the mustache news for about a month now.
In early April, the actor posted a collage paying homage to a slew of other iconic mustachioed men, including Magnum P.I. himself Tom Selleck, Lando Calrissian, and Wyatt Earp.
Since then, Harbour has taken to Instagram to tease his own induction into the ever-growing class of mustachioed law enforcement officers. From a partially obscured selfie with Stranger Things merchandise at Target to Polaroids with a puppy, Harbour’s been slowly giving us glimpses of Hop’s Season 3 facial hair.
However, Harbour did give us one shot of the ‘stache in its new glory.
If one thing is true, it’s that while facial hair comes and goes, our love for Chief Hopper will never die.
We can’t wait to see Cary Elwes, Maya Hawke, Jake Busey, and David Harbour’s mustache make their debut in Stranger Things season three!
