David Harbour was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes, but he’s the leading actor in our hearts

Nominations for the 2018 Golden Globes were announced on Monday, December 11th, and there were a lot of surprises. One such surprise? David Harbour was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Chief Jim Hopper on Netflix’s Stranger Things. But the nomination isn’t the surprise — the category is. Supporting role? Like, did the Hollywood Foreign Press Association even see his now-viral dancing?

TBH, David Harbour will always have the leading role in our hearts.

We’re still happy for David Harbour’s nod — his first Golden Globes nod, BTW — but no one is as excited as his Stranger Things cast members. Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler on the show, posted a photo of them on Instagram with a congratulatory message:

And Millie Bobby Brown, who shared some intense scenes with Harbour, majorly supported him on Twitter. Literally, is there a better hashtag than #DadDance? false

No. No there is not. That should be the official hashtag of his awards campaign, honestly.

There are plenty of reasons to enter yourself into the competition for Best Supporting Actor, instead of a leading role.

Maybe he thought he could win more easily in the supporting category, but it’s more likely that he’s just such a team player that he didn’t want to call himself a “lead” ahead of anyone else. In any case, Harbour had some very sweet things to say about his nom, cast, and show:

Is Harbour the best, or is he THE BEST? The correct answer is “yes” to everything. The Golden Globes air on January 7th, 2018. Good luck, Hopper David Harbour!
