This will make it ~so much easier~ to find the right dating app to use
It’s 2016, and when it comes to dating apps, you’ve got *plenty* of choices. There’s Tinder, Bumble, Grindr, Zoosk, OkCupid, eHarmony. . . the list goes on and on. But there are obviously lots of differences between these apps, so who’s to know which would be best to find you ~love~ (or just a fun fling, depending on what you want)? Luckily, Priceonomics did the work for us.
Using data from SurveyMonkey Intelligence, Priceonomics did a “deep dive into the dating app landscape,” analyzing the popularity of different dating apps and comparing the demographics of those who engage with them.
If you’re looking for the highest number of people using the app (and thus, more opportunities for a hot date), Tinder is your best bet, as online daters (25.6%) use it the most by a significant portion. After Tinder comes PlentyOfFish, OkCupid, and eHarmony, respectively.
If you’re looking for someone younger — from 18 to 29 — Bumble is the way to go, as 63.3% of its users fall in this range. After Bumble comes Tinder (52.3%), Hinge (49.3%), and Happn (47.6%). For an older age range, 30-49, Plenty of Fish and Coffee Meets Bagel are your best bets.
If you’re looking for women, 57.3% of users on Coffee Meets Bagel are women, followed by eHarmony (55.2%), OKCupid (48.3%), and Bumble (46.2%). Priceonomics notes that “straight women can confidently choose between a number of apps where the gender ratio is favorable.”
Finally, if you’re looking for spontaneity in the dating world, the statistics show that Grindr and Happn are engaged with most frequently throughout the day, which may help foster a “spontaneous, ever-present endeavor.” However, users on Coffee Meets Bagel don’t check as frequently, “reflecting its spirit of making online dating a planned, once-per-day routine.”
In other words? When it comes to online dating apps, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Knowing what apps can give you what you want may help you in the online dating trenches, but if one app doesn’t work for you, you can always move on to the next.
Above all, don’t forget that you’re a total catch, no matter which app you use!
