Daniel Radcliffe wants to be in “Star Wars,” so quick, someone get him a lightsaber

You cannot major in the Force at Hogwarts, but that isn’t stopping Daniel Radcliffe.

This summer has not one, but two movies coming out: Now You See Me 2 and Swiss Arm Man. In the first, he plays a tech guy who’s really bad at magic; in the second he plays a farting corpse (really). If he could handpick his next role, he’d travel off to that galaxy far, far away because if someone were to only ask him, YES, he’d love to do a Star Wars movie.

Talking to GQ about his upcoming summer movies, Radcliffe mentions that his dream is actually “to be in some massive shitty big disaster movie” with a “diverse a career as possible.” Looking at his post Harry Potter roles, he seems to be doing a pretty good job of picking a wide variety of movies from rom-coms, to that movie where he had horns.

Radcliffe also understands that “[I’ve] been in the most successful thing I ever will be in [Harry Potter], and to me it’s a huge relief. Because [I] just go, ‘Okay, that’s literally never gonna happen again.’

Unless he needs to bring balance to the Force. If asked, Radcliffe will BE there for Star Wars.

I’d love to [do Star Wars],” he continues. “I would jump at the chance.

Okay, quick. We have to get him into Star Wars. There has to be SOMETHING for him to do during Episode VIII, right? It’s far too late to get him into Rogue One, but maybe we’ve still got time to squeeze him into the Young Han Solo movie. This needs to happen. Harry Potter + Star Wars might be the thing that actually bursts our fangirl hearts.
