Daniel Radcliffe’s favorite Harry Potter movie is a pretty controversial pick

Daniel Radcliffe knows his favorite Harry Potter movie is not exactly a fan favorite. The Harry Potter alum recently looked back at the franchise, in which he portrayed the titular boy wizard for eight films, during an interview with WIRED. In the video, Radcliffe answered the internet’s most-searched questions about himself and shared some surprising revelations—such as his favorite film from the magical franchise.

“I love the last one, but I also really love the fifth, which is not a lot of people’s favorite,” Radcliffe told WIRED. “I love it because of the relationship between Harry and Sirius Black.”

Radcliffe elaborated on his leanings toward Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. “You get a lot of Gary Oldman in that movie,” he added. As fans will recall, Oldman portrayed Harry Potter’s godfather, Sirius Black, in the films. “That was my favorite one. Probably to film as well. We had a really, really good time making that one. Five or Seven, Part 2.”

This a lot to unpack, considering that the first four films clearly should have made the ringer. In the video, the Swiss Army Man actor also touched on other burning questions, such as whether he had a tattoo and where he met his girlfriend.

Radcliffe will star next in the TBS comedy Miracle Workers, set to premiere February 12th.
