Here’s how Daniel Radcliffe feels about being kept totally in the dark about “Fantastic Beasts”
When we first delved into the magical world of Harry Potter, we got to discover it all right along with the powerful young wizard himself. Which meant that Daniel Radcliffe, who got to play the iconic character throughout all of the films (in case you somehow missed that), would always know the details of Harry’s adventures. In order to do the role justice, he had to have the inside track what that world was all about and what the future might hold for his character.
But that’s not the case for Daniel Radcliffe anymore, at least not with the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. During a recent interview with Larry King on Ora.tv, the actor talked about not knowing anything about the upcoming film. Despite the close relationship with J.K. Rowling from the years of filming the movies, he is no longer privy to that type of information. Which is pretty surprising considering everything in that world basically centers around him (well, around Harry, but you know what we mean).
But even more surprising? Daniel is not only fine with it, he actually seems pretty excited about it. When asked for details about the world, he simply said, “I will look forward to it with everyone else.” He goes on to speculate about what he thinks the setting might be, but makes it pretty clear he’s as in the dark about it as the rest of it. He even adds how fun and different it will be for him to get to experience this world like everyone else, saying, “I’m intrigued to see what they do with it and how that world’s going to be expanded.”
From the sounds of it, no amount of “lumos” spells, even from a gifted wizard like himself, will bring light to those particular details.
