Dakota Fanning’s backless black dress has the most gorgeous gothic embellishments
While we were all ogling over who wore what to The Golden Globes the other night, we completely missed another star’s fashion win. Dakota Fanning wore a gothic black backless dress to the Amsterdam premiere of her latest film, Brimstone, and it’s one of the best black dresses we’ve seen in a while.
This Miu Miu creation is something right out of Morticia Addams’ closet, and we mean that as a compliment. The long-sleeved, high-necked, beaded wonder makes Fanning look classy, sophisticated, and like she means business.
Our favorite aspect of the gown is the beaded fringe at the sleeve hem. Who needs accessories when you have beads on beads on beads?
The embellishment continues up the arm and onto the shoulder, adding broadness and height. This makes Fanning look poised and regal. The sewn-on gold detailing throughout the dress adds shimmer and shine, making the overall look feel more expensive.
As much as we love a good bargain, we also love expensive-looking things.
Fanning posted a photo on Instagram showing off the beautiful open back of the dress. She captioned it, “Cheers to this Miu Miu dress for making me look 6ft tall.” Ascending those red carpeted steps, she truly looks like a gothic queen.
The actress stars alongside Kit Harrington, Carice von Houten, and Guy Pearce in Brimstone. Fanning plays a heroine hunted by The Reverend, a crazed zealot and her character must protect herself and her daughter from The Reverend’s punishment. She told The Independent that she was happy to play such a strong female character because we don’t see enough of them in Hollywood.
And in this Miu Miu number, real-life Dakota Fanning looks just that — a strong and fashionable female.
