Dakota Fanning’s tweed dress is a fall fantasy (especially with these badass boots)
A beautifully crafted Chanel tweed dress reminds us of Blair Waldorf on a chilly New York City fall afternoon. Dakota Fanning, slated to play Esther Greenwood in the upcoming film adaptation of The Bell Jar, looked cool and comfy in her own tweed Chanel dress that would definitely make Blair Waldorf swoon.
The actress wore the dark, multicolored, short-sleeved dress to the Through Her Lens: The Tribeca CHANEL Women’s Filmmaker Program cocktail hour last night in New York City. She paired the ensemble with the Chanel calfskin, pearl buttoned, gold heeled boots from the Fall-Winter 2016/2017 collection.

Tweed is a perfect fall fabric. It’s warm, but is also associated with upscale, expensive fashion. Coco Chanel is responsible for spreading tweed fashion, and we think she’d be pleased with the way Chanel continues to base its collections on the iconic fabric.
We also love the way Fanning styled her Chanel dress by giving the überclassy fabric an edgy touch with the leather booties. Sometimes it’s difficult to make tweed look “youthful,” but Fanning has definitely succeeded at making the outfit age-appropriate.
