Daisy Ridley talks about finally getting to REALLY work with Mark Hamill on “Episode 8”

Spoiler alert right from the get go, because it’s time to talk about the last scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and then where Episode VIII is going to pick up. It’s impossible to talk about this scene without revealing the fact that Rey (Daisy Ridley) finds the MIA Luke Skywalker, and with an outstretched hand, tries to give him back his long-lost lightsaber.
With filming for Episode VIII already underway, Ridley is now spilling what it’s like to finally get to work alongside Luke himself, Mark Hamill, and how he is, bottom line, “so cool.”
Talking to MTV News, Ridley explained that she and Hamill have been spending a lot of time together, rehearsing scenes. And you know what that means? Rey and Luke are going to be spending SO MUCH TIME TOGETHER during Episode VIII, so start getting excited about that amazing duo right now. As Ridley describes it, the whole thing is “really amazing.”
“When we went back to Skellig [where the end of Force Awakens was filmed] to do the opening of [Episode] VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people,” she continued. “[Hamill is] amazing to rehearse with, and I’m very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff.”
While she doesn’t drop any major hints about what we can expect from the two of them, Ridley does offer up that the story for Episode VIII is “such a good story.” We can’t wait… and it’s only 651 days away!
