Daisy Ridley opened up about how nervous she was to film “Murder on the Orient Express”

You would think that starring in the greatest sci-fi film franchise would help curb Daisy Ridley’s nerves about acting. You’d be wrong. Because Daisy Ridley talked about filming Murder on the Orient Express, and she it turns out was super nervous. Turns out smashing box office records didn’t give Ridley a false sense of grandness.
Most people know Daisy Ridley from her iconic role as Rey in the new Star Wars movies. While the actress did have some small roles prior to the blockbuster, it was the sci-fi movies that propelled her into the mainstream. Because of Star Wars, everyone wants her in their films!
But only the lucky people behind Murder on the Orient Express were able to snatch her up.
Who is Daisy Ridley playing?
Murder on the Orient Express is a film based on a 1934 novel by Agatha Christie. Daisy will be taking on the role of governess Mary Debenham. Mary is cool and collected. It’s the perfect role to showcase Daisy’s acting chops.
But just because the role is great, doesn’t mean Daisy didn’t have any reservations. She told People just how nervous she really was when deciding whether or not to take it on.
"I did my second film, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is so great, how could this ever be topped?’ And then Murder was kind of my first foray into non-spacey films. I was petrified. And we just had the best time. Truly the best time."
In addition to having great source material, Murder on the Orient Express is packed full of amazing recognizable actors.
Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Josh Gad, Willem Dafoe, Penélope Cruz, Dame Judi Dench, and Olivia Colman all make appearances. No wonder Daisy was nervous! But, as with her incredible performance as Rey, we know she’s going to be great in this new upcoming film. Make sure to check it out when it hits theaters on Nov. 22nd.
