Daisy Ridley’s latest dress makes her look like an elegant goddess and we’re bowing down

When we were introduced to Daisy Ridley as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we couldn’t have imagined the red-carpet rock star she would become.

As Rey, Ridley was clad in desert-proof gear more suitable for fighting the forces of evil than posing for photos. But the actress quickly proved that her personal style is just as badass as Rey’s — only it includes a few more dresses.

At a New York showing of The Eagle Huntress this week — a film she executive produced — Ridley donned a midi-length black dress with a boat neckline and ruffle hem.

Pairing the frock with strappy heels by Neil J. Rodgers — which showed off her cascading star tattoos (love!) — she looked elegant and insanely fierce.

The Eagle Huntress, a documentary that premiered at Sundance Kids this year, follows the story of 13-year-old Aisholpan, a Mongolian girl who aspires to become the first-ever female eagle hunter. The tradition of eagle hunting has been dominated by men for more than 2,000 years, so Aisholpan faces an uphill battle. But she has the support of her father and grandfather — and the drive to succeed.

Ridley signed on to the film, directed by Otto Bell and executive produced by Morgan Spurlock, after seeing a cut of it.

She explained in an interview with Deadline,

"I was deeply moved by Aisholpan’s story and wanted to be a part of this beautiful film. I feel audiences and young girls around the world will be as inspired by her story as I was, and I am so proud to share her journey with the world."

Ridley’s film choices so far have been all about empowering women and girls — and we’re so here for it. Keep doing what you do, Daisy!
