The dad from “High School Musical” posted an epic 30th birthday message to Zac Efron
Can you believe it’s been over a decade since the world fell in love with Disney’s classic High School Musical? As if that isn’t mind-blowing enough, yesterday star Zac Efron celebrated his 30th birthday. To celebrate such a significant event, you need some epic birthday wishes; and Zefron certainly got those, particularly from the man who played his loving father in the franchise.
Bart Johnson has had a long and impressive acting career, but Millennials will perhaps best know him as Coach Jack Bolton from High School Musical (and the father of Zac Efron’s conflicted character). And to celebrate his onscreen son turning 30, Johnson pulled out all the stops on Instagram with a message that is by turns funny and sweet.
The image features Johnson and Efron at the premiere of High School Musical 2, with one obvious doctored difference: Johnson is wearing a shirt with Zac Efron’s face emblazoned across it (and apparently actually owns said shirt). The lengthy Instagram message is a treat for any fan of the movie series; Johnson makes reference to the ‘glory days’ of coaching the Wildcats, and apparently still holds some hostility towards Darbus. But in between the jokes, Johnson offered an epic birthday wish for his cinematic son.
"Zac I’m super proud of you and wishing you all the best on this special day. Can’t wait to see “The Greatest Showman!! Love ya buddy!!"
We love this sweet message from our favorite onscreen coach. Happy birthday, Zac Efron! Now can we talk about a High School Musical reunion? Please?
