Cyndi Lauper designed a women’s empowerment T-shirt, and we want it

You’ve probably seen a tee with this slogan emblazoned on it before, but we’re willing to bet it wasn’t designed by an ’80s feminist and musical icon. Now, though, singer Cyndi Lauper has designed a women’s empowerment T-shirt featuring the words “Girls just want to have fundamental rights,” with proceeds from the tee benefitting Planned Parenthood and other awesome organizations.
Partnering with the fundraising platform Omaze, Lauper had the catchy phrase — a twist on her classic song, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” — printed on her shirts after seeing it on signs at the Women’s March in January.
“As I marched down the streets of New York City in January amongst a beautiful array of people of every sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and nationality, I was blown away to see so many people embracing the message of ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights’ on their handmade signs,” said Lauper in a release.
